Vectors and plasmids at MPIZ Koeln

All vectors mentioned here (and many others which you may find in our publications) are freely available for academic research. There is a MTA (material transfer agreement) which our administration requests. This basically states that you should not give the material to other parties, that its free for academic research, and that you should acknowledge the use of the material.

    • note: pBT8 is a derivative of pBT2 in which the vector backbone does not contain sequences needed for blue/white screening. The LUC ORF-delta-ClaI-mutation was provided by . We also mutated the XbaI and the EcoRI sites in the LUC ORF. The construct contains the 35S promoter from -417 to+8.

  • pGPTV-TATA-GUS

    • note: pGPTV-TATA-GUS is based on pBT10-GUS. It contains the 35S-TATA-46 promoter in front of GUS with the nos terminator. The construct contains the long polylinker.

    • note: pBENDER is a binary vector which transfers a nos-promoter driven kanamycin-resistant T-DNA. It requires the agrobacterium strain GV3101::pMB90RK (see Koncz and Schell (1986): MGG 204, 383-396). It is a Gateway-TM compatible vector which allows to put a coding region under the control of the 35S promoter for ectopic overepression in plants (pBT8-based cassette). We also have a antisense version (reverse orientation of the gateway sites) called pFRY (pMJa059) which is also available upon request.

    • note: pBTdest is based on pBT8-35S-GUS. It is a Gateway-TM compatible vector which we use to create effector plasmids (compare Sprenger und Weisshaar (2000): The Plant Journal 22, 1-8). The effector cDNA from the ENTRY-vector is inserted in the Sense (normal) orientation.

    • note: pBTdestAS is based on pBT8-35S-GUS. It is a Gateway-TM compatible vector which we use to create effector plasmids (compare Sprenger und Weisshaar (2000): The Plant Journal 22, 1-8). The AS-variant inserts the cDNA from the ENTRY-vector in the AntiSense orientation.
